The wait here is always bad and tonight probably would have been an hour if I got in line

I hate to give people one stars, in fact I rarely do. But on this occasion I feel compelled to give this restaurant a one star rating. I placed an order for four orders of their Tuesday two for $1.69 special as usual. The place was filled up with customers and things were getting hectic. When they finally called my number and give me my food, I checked the box and found that they only put in three orders instead of the four orders I requested. I told the cashier that I was missing an order in my box, and she has the audacity to raise her voice telling me that I don't have to yell. She then got two more pieces and stuffed them inside that already cramped box and it just ruined the chicken. This isn't the first time that they forgot an order or two in my box, but this has been happening frequently. I wanted to talk to the manager about the horrible service, but I just couldn't since I was pressed for time and I had to go back to work as soon as possible. I don't think I will ever come back to this place again.

I always pass by this branch whenever I'm on my way to work and I decided to try it for lunch. I guess I have to blame myself for not reading its Yelp reviews. "They don't accept plastic." So I had to use their scary money dispensing unit which they call an ATM. Ugh. Minus two points for that from my star chest. I've been to a different Popeye's branch and they accepted my card. Don't know why this branch is so antediluvian. But I don't really blame them for being such, since I know a lot of people who are still so archaic when it comes to technology. However, that's another minus point from my star chest. I do like their chicken, but their spicy version is not really that spicy for me. So, at least that could be an added star. Their seasoned fries are okay. Neutral for the points though. I'm not a biscuit fan so I didn't even try it. Service at this branch? Well, it was not busy when I was inside. There were two customers ahead of me: one was already eating and one was waiting for his order. Let's just say Lady Gaga kept on singing her "Poker Face" song in the back of my mind. Yeah! They have a poker face - po po poker face! And when they gave me my take out bag, it's kind of poker faced too. Didn't put napkins, didn't put spoon or fork, didn't even offered ketchup or anything. So, less a star for that. I've experienced better Popeye's branches than this. I wouldn't mind driving to the one farther up.

I like the chicken but lack of drive thru and lack of customers cost me to rate it a 4, so I give it a 3.

  • Tee K.

I like their chicken but I love their Cajun mash n fries! Though I do think they r super duper slow for a fast food. Everything is out don't know why they take forever. Standing waiting for ur food with other ppl standing waiting for their food is no fun. Everybody starts to fidget n pretend to look at something to pass the awkward wait....lol anyways I do like how it's spicy cuz I'm in love with spicy food. Just the damn wait is aggravating.

Every Tuesday you can get 2 pieces (leg and thigh) for roughly $1.50. This is a very good deal for people looking to satisfy their fried chicken cravings and not wanting to put a dent in their wallet. The fried chicken is okay...I still prefer Churches Chicken over Popeyes but it is one step above KFC in taste and quality. As for the nutritional factor it's obviously not the healthiest thing you can eat. It has plenty of oil, fat, and it's fried but if you're eating here you probably don't care or perhaps having a cheat day from a diet.

    (3)
  • Carol T.

The usual here and go for the Tuesday deal for the chicekn. This place has it's ups and downs if you persay, if you have a question about the order, you could always ask them, and would actually help you with the order. Sometimes the wait for chicken may take a good 15 to 20 minutes, and they tell you ahead of time too, if they don't have enough. There's usually a few stores down to walk around, and by the time my boyfriend and I are back, our order is already ready and prepped for us to bring home.

  • Ee Vonn Y.

I order at the counter: Me: Can I have the Tuesday deal and the chicken tenders with cajun fries? Cashier: Chicken tenders and cajun rice. Me: No, I said fries. The cashier is furious for some reason, and scribbles out fries after I had already paid. Does that sound weird? It gets worst. So we get our order: Me: We didn't get our Tuesday deal. Cashier: We didn't charge you for it. Me: Yeah, but we ordered it, so can we get it? Cashier: We didn't charge you for it. Me: Can I still order it? Cashier: You can go to the back of the line and order. Me: But that's a mistake on your part. Can I just order it now? Cashier: So you want to pay for it? Me: Yeah, because we didn't get it. Cashier: We didn't charge you for it. And the cajun fries had no cajun in it. And it was cold.

I like this location. It's always clean & the workers don't look depressed like the one on McKee. Never had an issue with food or incorrect orders. They do take card here. I don't know about those other people who say it's cash only. & they stay open til exactly 10. I know places that keep their open signs on but say they don't have any more food. Overall. Always a great experience.

Objectively I'd like to give Popeye's 3 stars because the chicken was pretty good, even if it wasn't spicy at all (I ordered the spicy fried chicken). The service wasn't bad by any means either. What was bad, however, was my urge to take a long visit the restroom almost immediately after eating Popeyes. Despite my yelp motto of "eat with no regard for your stomach" sometimes your stomach tells you to f*ck off. Probably won't visit Popeyes again.

Got to love that Louisiana fried food! Really awesome chicken! Love their biscuits, make sure to get some honey to go with them!

  • William S.

I specifically came here for their new item, garlic buttered shrimp. It was pretty good, but you still got to expect that this is a fast food joint, so you won't get much of quality food. I do have to admit though, this is probably one of my top fast food places to go for chicken, other than KFC, Churches and other types of fast food places. Not really much for me to review here as I'm not to fond of fast foods to begin with. Then again I do like Popeye's so this gets a little ups on stars from me. Other than that, that's all this place is going to get from me as far as reviewing goes.

Not sure what happened. This used to be my stop for Fast Food Friday. Went there a couple days ago and the food and service were awful. My chicken was cold and my friends fries were as well. It was during the lunch rush so you would expect everything to be freshly made but it was obvious that the food had been sitting around for a while. No one seemed to be cleaning the tables, ours had food stains and napkins on it. Was there ownership change? Won't be back no more.

I love this place and I probably get fat for eating 4 times in a month. On Tuesdays are the $1.99 for 2-pieces...not bad Order the spicy , really not that spicy but got to have that hot sauce. However, that seasoned frieds are greasy but once in awhile it is okay. Sometime you get lucky and get a leg that is as big as a turkey leg.

    (5)
  • Shirley N.

Four stars because I really really reallyyyyyyy love their cajun fries and chicken tenders with hot sauce and their yummy honey bbq sauce! You get also get your tenders fried or grilled. Huge portions, cheap price! The fried chicken here is decent, better than KFC in my opinion. If it wasn't so fattening, i would come here all the time =P Service is decent, the restaurant itself in semi-clean, i always order take-out anyways. Come on Tuesdays for their awesome deal. Cash only!

"Smells like a sewer in there. Cashier refused to serve us. They say they will remodel I hope they fix their plumbing!"

  • Mark R.

I just finished the 'meal' from there. I went after lunch, and surprisingly, was the only caucasian in the place. Now I know why. Never have I been ignored and disrespected over an order of 3 tenders in my life. After 20 minutes of standing and waiting, my order-taker was to take break and I still hadnt gotten my food. 3 tenders, mashed, 2 biscuits.... the pressure relief valve triggered and I blew, leaving with soggy tenders and a wet ear of corn. THEY DONT LIKE White people at all. if you arent brown or black, forget this place, as they will make you wait forever to reinforce their distaste of white folk. I was appalled, having moved from a racist state, to find it here, too.

Popeye's Chicken will make you fat! I know this from experience because I was hella fat before and I loved my Popeye's Chicken. Lately, my parents pick up the 2 pieces of chicken (leg & thigh) for $1.29. Oh boy, I always try to just eat one thigh but sometimes I can't help but get myself a small leg to satisfy the craving. The pieces vary, sometimes the thigh is a good medium size and the drumsticks or leg are super small. So if you pick up the Tuesday special make sure you order a few just in case.

    (4)
  • Leigh R.

Love the $1.29 Tuesday special - perfect for a quick, no-fuss dinner when you're too tired to cook. Make a couple cups of white rice at home and you're all set!

    (3)
  • Vincent D.

Used the $5.99 5 piece mixed, 2 biscuits, and 2 regular cajun fries coupon and they give me 4 pieces, 1 biscuit, and 1 regular cajun fries. Didn't realize it until I got home. You're not getting anything more than 1 star for this. I finally decided to make a Yelp account after countless amounts of times of being ripped off.

Ever since I was introduced to Popeyes YEARS ago, it became my go-to place for fried chicken. I always found their food here to be vastly superior to KFC, and I just love the Cajun flare they add to the food here. I've been to many different Popeyes restaurants throughout the Bay, yet this particular location stands out as the only one I've ever been to with a "cash only" policy! What the heck is THAT all about? Woohoo, they have an ATM inside...with the typical transaction fees ($3 if I remember correctly). But what if I wanted to pay by credit card? Don't get me wrong...this is NOT a deal breaker, by any means. If I feen for Popeyes, and this was nearby, I'd just need to make sure I had cash first. However, this policy of theirs is just one of those weird nuances that totally makes an otherwise typical fast-food joint stand out like a sore thumb.

  • Vanessa G.

This place is never too crowded and the food is always a beautiful golden brown. It's definitely an inconvenience that the store is cash only, but I think thats how it is at all San Jose locations. Luckily there's a savemart in the same parking lot so you could withdraw cash without having to pay a fee ;) If you like fried foods southern style there's no reason why you won't love popeyes at north capital

  • Jaime O.

    Darn good shrimp po boy.

    (5)
  • Cindy L.

My parents are regulars here on Tuesdays. 2 piece of chicken for $1.29? Can't go wrong. We always take it home and the chicken is always so crispy!

    (3)
  • Joy D.

What's up with this Popeye's not being able to take anything but cash? And the wait for food can be ridiculous! I've been to better Popeye's... the best one I've been to was in Tampa (and they had a drive thru). I gave two stars coz the biscuits here are OFF THE CHAIN, especially if you drizzle honey on them! And because it's the closest one to me.

Last time I walked the stone path through the bushes to this location was about 5 year ago, although I live just a few blocks away. Suddenly was craving the buttery biscuits and cajun fries today so swung on by before heading home. There was absolutely no one in the store at 5:30PM and no one at the front counter either. I saw some cooks in the back kitchen who glanced at me but didn't pay too much attention. Stood there for about 3 minutes before an asian man came out to take my order. I'm assuming this guy's the owner of this franchise. He was polite and gave me a receipt as well so that appeased me. The order didn't take too long, but apparently only the asian guy was allowed to bag up the order for me, not the kitchen cooks. The guy threw in tons of ketchup and honey something sauce packets for my fries and I happily hopped back down the stone path to my car. Food wise, the biscuits didn't turn out as good as I remembered them to be (or did I imagine the whole thing?). Good thing you can't mess up cajun fries!

  • Voodoo P.

How the hell can someone not given Popeye's 5 stars? I love this place and being going here for years. It a little suck that they dont take credit cards but oh well. The Tuesday Special is always awesome!

    (5)
  • Christy L.

i've never met a popeye's chicken i didn't like. just love that spicy fried chicken... the only complaints about this place is that they don't take plastic and there is no drive-through - makes it hard for a mom to get her chicken fix when there's no money in the wallet and the kids are zonked out in the car!

    (4)
  • brandon t.

Any place that doesn't take debit card in 2012 is automatically getting a 1. What is with Popeyes always trying to get away with giving one package of honey also?

    (1)
  • Hanep G.

Customer Service? What Customer Service? Staff at this branch are very rude. The don't greet nor thank you, they rush you, they give you attitude when you ask them questions, and good luck mix matching your order. NO MIX MATCHING ON SPECIAL PROMOTIONS! Wow dude, could you say that any ruder? That short Filipina lady too. Smile and be friendly for a change.

Ok, I didn't want to go here, but hubby's been gagging to come here. I caved in and found myself here on a Friday night. FRIDAY NIGHT. Maybe it was to combat the underwhelming meal we had at Il Postale the night before ( yelp.com/biz/il-postale-… ). I enjoyed Popeye's far more than Il Postale. I ordered the chicken po boy and fries. I enjoyed the chicken po boy and it was a huge sandwich. I could only manage half of it. Fries were nice, but I don't like corn starch/flour on my potatoes. The chicken was nice, juicy and crispy. Hubby didn't want to eat his biscuit and I shamelessly ate it for him. I took one for the team. Not. I willingly ate that buttery biscuit of goodness. Popeye's biscuits are far greater than KFC biscuits. Actually, I think Popeye's is much better on the whole than KFC taste wise and quality wise. This is a cash only place and frankly, I was a bit baffled. The girl working the register was nice and friendly. I'd come back here again, but only if I can pretend like I never did... ;)

First Star: I love love love popeyes food! Definitely beats KFC. The mashed potatoes are a must-try. Second Star: Convenience. This is the closest popeyes location to Milpitas. Third Star: This location often has good service. However, it is far from perfect. The bad? This location only accepts cash. They do have an atm inside, but (of course) there is a $3 charge to use it. I seldom have bad experiences here, but when I do those experiences are horrible. The last visit I had, my mashed potatoes had no gravy and were pretty much covered in orange grease.

As it goes with everyday, I was thinking about something to eat. I knew I wanted something "dirty." I am a "dirt food" connoisseur. Dirt food is anything that has a drive-thru, comes in plastic, and dessert on average is costing less than 3.00. My mind said a salad, but my heart said Popeye's. I had never tried Popeye's today and it wasn't bad. It's better than KFC, this place... however, this franchise is CASH only. The service was not out of the ordinary for a joint like this, and the guy didn't sterilize me when I asked for butter (for the biscuit), hot sauce, and ranch. I asked my friend before I got there, "Am I going to regret eating Popeye's?" Verdict is, no I didn't. It was good... it is what it is, and I'll probably be back... However, this location leaves more to be desired... it's highly inconvenient to carry cash, friends. The strip mall is a little sketch and on this hot summer day, I was eating in the company of flies...

I LOVE Popeye's Chicken, but something is up with this location. They really need to change how they do business here. -No customer service what-so-ever -SLOW -Only 1 cashier & 1 person handling food (on a Saturday night) -Extremely RUDE!! (Vy was working that night. We got the whole 9 yards from her! Eye's rolling, rude tone of voice, disrespectful attitude & looks, not asking if we wanted mild/spicy, told me that I couldn't get any sauce until my order came in and when I asked for sauce, she just threw them on the counter!, etc., etc.,) -Cash Only -Bathroom DIRTY & smelled like sewer

    (2)
  • Patsy C.

They taste of the chicken wasn't that great- I'd rather go to KFC, and that says A LOT. The service was alright, but it really bothered me that the woman at the counter didn't give me a receipt. Why wouldn't you give someone a receipt when they paid for the product, or at least ask if we wanted it? Other than that, it was just okay.

  • Randy C.

I liked Popeyes in Oakland but this one is not good. 1. I ordered the catfish. What I got was a two 1.5" diameter fish and I paid over $5 for it. Bad value. 2. No credit card 3. Slow service

    (1)
  • Ryan D.

Popeye's makes great chicken at a somewhat affordable price, but this restaurant is not the same as the others that you'll find in the area. 1. No debit/credit card. I suppose it's not a huge problem, but the places that don't accept card, yet have an ATM near the register always bother me. 2. Popeye's is never extremely fast about serving you food (which really isn't a problem because the food is good), but it took 20 minutes for us to get 2 combo meals tonight. 3. This Popeye's has all the nice decoration you may find at others, but seems to be less clean and has smelled like cigarette smoke both times that I've been there. I believe with a little more focus on serving guests better, this could be a really great restaurant.

    (2)
  • Carla S.

I went to Popeye's for the first time last night. I'd never been, but my kids and their friend were asking for it, so I decided to pick some up. The restaurant is very clean and the service was friendly and efficient. I had a large and confusing order, and they got it right. I was able to pay with a credit card, no problem. And they made sure to offer butter, honey, hot sauce, etc., as well as making sure I got extra napkins. The chicken (both spicy and mild) was very good--better than KFC, I think. The mashed potatoes were good as well. The corn and biscuits were okay--biscuits were pretty salty, but the kids liked them. The family is already asking when we're having Popeye's again, so I'm sure we'll be back.

good place for fast food chicken with a slight kick. service is not very friendly though.

  • Janet D.

Used to be my popeye's of choice until they started letting homeless people hang out inside without buying. I don't mind homeless people but I do mind when their odor mingles with food I would like it enjoy and then while I'm waiting have them beg me for money. I felt like that episode in South Park where they kept coming up to ask for spare change! No bueno! I haven't been able to step foot inside since. Pooh. I love their spicy chicken and their cajun fries. Must find a new location I can enjoy.

  • Richard G.

I usually love going to this spot, but not tonight. everything tastedlike it was sitting and most importatntly I threw away my shrimp becuase it tasted so bad. 90% of the time they usually are on point.

  • Alexander L.

I went in thinking, yeah I'm just going to get some chicken. These people took care of me so well and I wasn't even the only person in line. They really wanted to let you have the chicken but they wanted to make sure every piece was what you wanted. I asked for the 2 piece meal, and they were asking me if i wanted a thigh or breast or 2 breasts or 2 thighs, how spicy etc. It was certainly memorable enough to Yelp about. So good job Franchise Owner. You've trained your workers very well. I just wish you guys were open later.

When I was working aat a dental office, the whole staff always wanted to eat at popeye's. The closest location was this place. The ladies here are always so nice, because we order over the phone and it's always a large order. Each time I've gone there to pick up the food, they NEVER miss anything from our requests and they have it ready on time.

Great when popeyes has promotions. This location seems to accept all promotions anounced by corporate. Bad part is they are cash only :(

    (2)
  • Tim L.

The chicken is good but everytime i go it gets smaller and smaller! Whats up with that. Especially the po-boy. The sides are great! Fries and cajun rice are teriffic. However the chicken is really greasy and sometimes makes you feel sick after eating it. Minus one star because popeyes is more expensive than other fast food places

    (3)

Cash only. Slow service. bad food. the end.

a friend and i always seem to end up here on weekends after we the drnak the night before. the service is fast and the place is clean we always seem to get the fresh batch so we never eat the "chicken thats been sitting under the light!" never over fried and never under fried! WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!

  • Gary B.

Popeye's is fast food and that alone means it will never merit a 4-star or 5-star review, but, c'mon! This is Popeye's! It is always better than KFC and I'm hard pressed to think of other fast food chains that serve food as tasty as you get will from a well-run Popeye's. Popeye's biscuits are made out of flour, some cruel impostor for butter, and crack for all I know, but I can never get enough of these greasy little darlings, and of course the spicy chicken strips are top-notch for fast food. Popeye's is a guilty pleasure that leads to an early grave but you only live once and life is brutish so you might as well indulge your grease-loving inner glutton sometimes, right? Extra points for the relatively recent addition of fried shrimp po-boys. The french fries are good too, which is important. Strawberry Fanta in the soda machine adds a small and unexpected touch of authenticity to the superficially Louisiana-inspired proceedings. Demerits at this location for the deafening ruckus that employees create merely by doing their jobs; how is it that this is a problem nowhere else but the staff here cannot blink their eyes or walk more than two steps in any direction without causing restaurant equipment to shriek, rumble, oscillate, and bang like the great battle of Ragnarok? To compensate for this shortcoming, however, staff here are very attentive and friendly toward their customers and make a concerted effort to provide excellent customer service. If you are a Popeye's fan and ever make it up to Oakland, be sure to give your business to the Popeye's location in Fruitridge.

Chicken comes out piping hot. Nice and juicy on the inside and crispy outside. The service is great , the restaurant is clean and the soda machine is well kept. This is probably the best popeye's in the area and beats KFC by far. I recommend the spicy. Not too spicy but has more flavor than mild. Oh and did I say the sides are awesome too?

Since the change of management, this Popeyes has gone down the drain. The manager takes no responsibility over his staff and just shrugs off every complaint that is thrown his way, but does resolve them to the best of his ability (maybe), takes a little while though. Cashier is sloppy, forgets orders and takes no initiative. I have gotten so many things on my order, but I will continuing going back. I love my chicken more than that.

    (1)
  • Roldan M.

The slowest and unorganized Popeyes in San Jose! It never fails...you will wait 20+ minutes for your food. I've been waiting since 7:10 pm and my number has not been called

  • Connie W.

On Tuesdays when they have their leg and thigh special for $1.99, there is usually a line queue of about 3-5 people. Each person orders like this - 6 orders, spicy. No need to say what your are ordering cuz everyone is ordering the special. Their deep fried fruit pies are pretty good too. Note it is deep fried, not baked like McD. And they fry it after you order it, pipping hot. Lately, I have declared Tue dinner as Popeye Tuesday. But I am hearing complains about too much grease from a family member so don't know how long I can keep this gig going.

    (3)
  • Timothy T.

Came here for $2 leg and thigh deal. The servers were friendly. I was disappointed with the wings though. It was too oily. The store is pretty dirty during the happy hours and there are plenty of somewhat ratchets.

  • Jarleen V.

Tuesdays are the best days because Popeyes. You get 2 pieces of chicken for a cheap price. I forget, but it's a good ass deal because the pieces of chicken are huge. My favorite sauce is the blackened ranch - so good with the chicken tenders. But the only thing I actually really do love from Popeyes is their mashed potatoes. That gravy and hint of spice in it is so good! It's really a hit or miss here. Your food can come out good or bad, but it's all how the workers are feeling that day.

  • Stephanie O.

This being my first time at a Popeye's, I checked out the Rip'n Chicken which includes a huge piece of fried chicken as well as some spicy fries and hot sauce. Not too fond of spicy foods in general, I was pleasantly surprised at the tangy-ness of the chicken itself, as well as the fries, and hot sauce. The portion of the meal was so big that I ended up saving the leftovers and giving it to the homeless guy outside the door. I sure hope he enjoyed his free meal.

    (4)
  • Ronnel C.

I love the food. Some, not all of the employees are friendly. But I don't expect much from a fast food joint. However, they did screw up my order recently. It was a Tuesday. Either the cashier screwed it up or the person assembling my meal did.

    (3)
  • Sophia B.

BEWARE: Unless you are willing to play a two-player game of Russian Roulette with the devil himself I would not visit this Popeyes. On one hand you may get lucky and in turn receive some fresh fries and chicken. But on the other hand you may be royally screwed by satan and receive some stale fries and chicken -- I swear, rubber would be easier to chew than their strips. You may as well just go into the super market across the devils den for some rotisserie chicken that's ACTUALLY fresh and ready.

  • Steph F.

This is apparently the place to go on a Tuesday for their $1.49 for two pieces of chicken special. The line was out the door by the time I arrived at 5:30 p.m. Ken L. wanted to come pick up a gift card/certificate here along with some chicken to bring back for dinner. This is where we learned that they don't have gift cards/certificates for sale. We ended up bringing back 20 pieces of chicken (regular and spicy) along with some sides: mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, Cajun fries, and biscuits. I'm not a fan of the fried chicken at Popeyes or KFC. The mashed potatoes were okay but I prefer the one at KFC better. The mac and cheese was probably the biggest disappointment. The Cajun fries and biscuits were probably my favorites out of everything. Note: For everyone who was complaining that this was a cash only place before, they accept credit cards now.

It's a damn shame that I only discovered Popeyes after high school. Yes, it is better than KFC but you've gotta give them more credit. The skin on the fried chicken is really crunchy and thin. It doesn't have huge random chunks of fat like KFC does so it doesn't feel as heavy either. The Tuesday deal is simply the best, otherwise it's rather expensive for a few pieces of fried chicken. I'm not a huge fan of their lackluster sides but the yummy, fresh chicken makes up for it. You know I'll be back.

Popeyes never dissapoints! My boyfriend craves some good old fried chicken usually once a week, so we go here often. Personally, I prefer Popeyes over KFC because of the breading. It is always always crispy, enough so to hear a crunch when you bite in compared to the softer breading at KFC. TIP: Come here on Tuesdays for their special!

the WORST crew esp kitchen crew. RUDE, CRUDE and UNACCOMMODATING!!!! I requested all thighs and was even willing to pay extra for it and this young fella in the back yelled out 'cant do that'...when there's tons of cooked thighs available and no customers.

I came in for the Tuesday special as we were feeling like a fried chicken night. Since we don't like KFC that much we typically would go to Popeyes instead. I ordered 10 pieces of the 2 piece special in spicy. Our order came out right and they asked me if I wanted some hot sauce when the order came out. I asked for extra hot sauce since we like it spicy. I'm so glad this place now accepts credit cards as it makes it much easier to pay. We always saw we are not going to eat any more fried chicken, but for some reason make our way back here.

Came in on Tuesday yesterday for the usual deal. We came in ten min before closing so they had only two orders left, which is extremely understandable! The service was great and all the workers, Fabian, Cheryl, the sweet girl who boxed our chicken and the guy who I assume was the supervisor(?) went above and beyond to serve us. Thank you for being so considerate and not rude even though we came in last minute. I can probably imagine everyone would just want to get out of there but they were so friendly. We even got free coleslaw. Thanks Popeyes!!! :)

First time at Popeyes because I've always been a 100% faithful costumer to KFC. My experience was okay, it's fast food, what can you expect. The chicken strips were fresh and hot. The fries and biscuit were also fresh and really good, but apparently you have to ask for butter for your biscuit. I would go back just for the fries! The mash and gravy I didn't care for. KFC has them beat on that one. As for the customer service, not too friendly. They need to learn how to smile. The one thing I really disliked was that they charge 25 cents for sauce. I've never paid for sauce and if I'm paying extra for it, you better put it in the bag. As the lady handed me my order I asked if the sauce was also in there and she said she forgot to put it in the bag and then asked me what kind I wanted that she forgot. I may return!

I love Popeyes chicken! This location is A-OK in my book! + It's clean! + Staff are pretty fast with taking orders and prepping your food + They have specials! However they messed up my order the last time I was here I ordered two of their specials (3 piece chicken with a biscuit) one mild and one spicy, and there was only ONE spicy chicken in the box which was clearly labeled "spicy". BOOO, especially since they weren't busy at all that Wednesday night!

The one and last time i had visited, they were out of biscuits. Instead of substituting the (Chinese) owner's (daughter?) said no, you just don't get a biscuit. One of the other buyers was complaining about the chicken being oily. Popeyes is just not what it used to be or is this just an Owner specific issue? Skip this one there is a KFC down the street.

I usually don't write reviews for establishment like these, I mean what can you expect, it's fast food. But I had to write one because the Filipino gentleman that took my BFs order needs to be retrained on his listening skills. My bf ordered a number two which comes with a drumstick and thigh but wanted to upgrade his order for a breast and wing. He also made him repeat his order twice. When his order comes out, guess what he got..TWO measly small wings. He was charged extra for the breast and wing. We also overheard the previous customer having to fix his order because he got the wrong thing as well. Too bad we couldn't fix ours because we had gotten our food to go. I mean I don't really care but you shorted my BFs chicken?! We gon have a problem! The struggle is real... Warning: check your box before you leave!

Does anyone actually come here NOT on a Tuesday? Because I'm guessing people only come for the special, that's what I'll do my review on. $1.50 two piece chicken. How good is it? Piece 1 Freakin delicious. Especially the skin. Piece 2 Delicious. Skin not as good as you remembered. Piece 3 Delicious, if you don't eat the skin. Piece 4 You tell yourself you're never coming here again (but you do). Still better than KFC though. Cool thing is, they accept credit card (finally), and their service is actually pretty good now.

Popeye's serves some finger-lickin deep south Bayou Chicken, don't it? This particular outlet has a workforce of Filipino and Latina, while the customers are African American and Filipina, with an occasional oversized Caucasian. They have a pretty large variety of standards and combos to choose from. But don't stare and absorb the Nutritional information, because that would shock you into not ordering, there are so many calories, sodium and who knows what in each to make them so tasty and greasy. (Actually, a lot of sodium in everything). They have Bonafide Mild, or Bonafide Spicy Chicken pieces, Tenders, Sandwiches, Po' Boys and Wraps, a host of Signature Sides, and they even have breakfast and desserts. They even pipe some dixieland music like dem der down in Nawlins. Didn't hear any Zydeco though.

This place is not just dirty, but full of cheap and trashy cashiers who refused to put my orders in a box container because I "only ordered three items," during the Tuesday special. The cashier didn't believe I deserve a paper box container. The lady simply put all the six pieces in a paper bag and the oil from the fried chickens soaped through it and onto my car seat. Never go back there again.

I don't care how fatty this chicken is.... It is just craveable at times.... I had my Popeyes again after maybe two years of been wanting to eat it again.... totally worth it....haha.... oh joy!

I came in after work to pick up dinner for the family. I ordered the 8 piece tenders combo meal and another 3 piece combo. I asked the lady if I can have some blackened ranch to go with my meals and she gives me 2. I ask her for more and she tells me it's going to be 25 cents each! SERIOUSLY?!!! I order 8 pieces of tenders plus three separate pieces of chicken and your gonna charge me? I tell her how much chicken I ordered and she has the nerve to ask the cashier if I did. Excuse me?!! Where is your customer service?!!! After the cashier confirms that I did order chicken she finally gives more. Learn how to treat your customers right! Then, when I get home I find out those fools got my order wrong!! They gave me 8 pieces of chicken thighs/legs instead of tenders!!! Ain't nobody got time to eat chicken with bones and to go back and drive in traffic just so they can give me the RIGHT order! I was very disappointed. I always go to this Popeyes and tonight they failed me. I'm giving 2 stars for service. The chicken was good, but the service was disappointing.

I have been going to this Popeyes for many years. I would say their food and service was a 2 star. I think they changed owner because they have Ipads now and I don't recognize anyone. The employees are are friendly. We had to wait 15 minutes because they have too fry some new one which is okay with me. I like their mash potatoes here. I haven't been here on Tuesdays anymore because they have a long line for the cheap special. I am all for cheap food, but the line is not worth it. If you decide to go on Tuesday, you should expect a long line.

I've been here plenty of times for the Tuesday deals and today was one of two disappointing visits. 1. Cashier: Calls me up and says nothing else to me except for my total. No thank you, heres your receipt, eye contact or smile? This place always lacks some serious quality customer service. I never see them smile... 2. The girl giving us our food didn't ask us for what sauces that we wanted Me: Can I get Cajun Spice? Her: Cajun Sparkle. I felt embarrassed for a second, but realized how rudely she corrected me in her flat tone... I know I look young and all because of my asian genes, but I asked nicely. Who calls a spice, "Sparkle"? Lol. Coming home, our 3 orders of mild were a bit soggy, unacceptable. The spicy was perfect as always. Another time that I came on a Tuesday night, we didn't get a special and it took half an hour to get my order ready, seriously...? This place may be close, but if I'm not lazy, I'd drive over to the Alum Rock one instead. Their service is friendly and attentive for the one time that I came there. The cashier even noticed that we didn't order drinks and offered us two cups for water.

Tuesday special is all the craze! What is the Tuesday special you ask? 2 pcs (dark) Leg and Thigh for $1.29 (prices vary by location) The wait isn't normally too long - but this last time I went the line was out the door! Despite the line being crazy long the workers were efficient and cranked out orders quickly. If you don't feel like cooking dinner on Tuesday, swing by to get some spicy chicken! :)

this popeye's is shit .excuse my language , but it is what it is . I don't really review fast food chains , since for the most fart you can expect what you're getting .but really now , there's no reason for you to come to this place , when you have Wendy's right next door with 99 cent chicken nuggets if you really ,really need your damn chicken . the lady working the front counter was absolutely rude, pushy, aggresive, loud, controlling, and down right NOT P.R Friendly .why would you put her in the front? gosh I hope she's not the mgr. She even snapped at the other employees . it ruined my dining experience. food wasn't great but a friendly face , smile and good greeting -personality would've kept me returning . I do not wish for this person to lose her joy but may be go through public image , customer satisfaction and service program or something . any body but this lady would be a better hostess/ greeter.

Why is the wait so long here? It's a fast food joint! I went around 8pm on a Friday night and there were only a few people in the place but OMG the wait for the food was ridiculous! Oh turns out my order wasn't process so it didn't show up on their screens?! WTF! The girl was nice though and she made my order ASAP but they ran out of biscuits so they sub with another piece of chicken. The food is good but they need to learn how to make the food faster!
